Extended Medical Insurance RMT's in BC are covered by most extended health plans. Private plans all carry their own specific allowances for Massage Therapy. Your therapist will give you a receipt for your treatment(s) which you then submit to your extended health care plan for reimbursement according to your specific plan. For more information on your plan's allowances, contact your extended carrier or plan administrator directly. MSP$20.00/ treatment fee applies. Those who are considered 'Premium Assistance' by MSP are covered for up to 10 visits per calendar year (this includes visits for either Massage Therapy, Chiropractic or Physiotherapy or a combination of the above). ICBC$22.00/ treatment ICBC administration fee (12 treatments within 8 weeks) if accepted by ICBC. $45.00 /1/2 hour treatment after 12 treatments or 8 weeks expire. For treatment coverage by ICBC due to an ICBC related incident, you must first have your claim accepted and bring this information with you for your initial visit to the clinic or email it before your initial visit. You can seek treatment before ICBC accepts your claim. If you choose to seek treatment before ICBC confirms coverage you would pay the regular treatment fee. ICBC only pays for a portion of the treatment. You will need to save your receipts for the balance and submit them to your adjuster for possible reimbursement. ICBC's fee schedule allows for 12 treatments within 8 weeks. This generally is inadequate for resolution of your accident related injury. If you still require treatment after the 8 week ICBC time limit it is recommended that you continue with therapy and seek reimbursement from ICBC.
- ICBC's treatment limit for Registered Massage Therapy is 12 treatments within 8 weeks from the date of loss (accident date).
- If you choose to seek treatment before ICBC confirms coverage you would pay the regular burnaby massage treatment fee.
- If you choose to seek treatment after the ICBC treatment limit has ended you would pay the regular burnaby massage treatment fee.
